That’s why we’ve worked tirelessly to come up with the Maison 21G formula, which is built upon the principle that each and every one of our ingredients - sourced from some of the world’s rarest and most sought-after natural products - must be pairable, blendable, and completely compatible with one another. We’ve run countless tests on all of our combinations, and the result is a broad and exciting artist’s palette of essences that has grown from our 20 years of research. Our founder Johanna Monange has brought her peerless perfumery experience to Maison 21G, following a lifetime in the industry, and an impressive series of world-beating perfumes creations including La Vie Est Belle, One Million, Aqua di Gioia, Spice Bomb, and many more. Achieving Perfection From Simplicity

We have been working hard in order to keep things as simple as possible for you, our valued customers and growing scent designer community. Let’s take a look at a few gems of advice for achieving that perfect pairing in your Maison 21G perfume creation.

We recommend starting by selecting the two ingredients that you love the most, or that you’re already familiar with via your preferred branded perfumes or lifelong relationship with scents.

If you’re on the lookout for an elegant, fresh perfume to wear in the daytime and one a day-to-day basis, it’s probably best to start with a blend of one top note and one heart note. If, on the other hand, you’re looking to level up your seduction and create a sensual perfume for evening and night-time wear, a blend of one heart note and one bottom note might be more your style.

Remember: creativity is the key to unleashing your personality, and your true essence will never be discovered in a perfume designed for mass appeal. To quote Coco Chanel once again: “A woman who doesn’t wear an elegant or sensual perfume has no future” - we can’t possibly disagree!

The Maison 21G Paris Top Notes Collection: Freshness, Colour and Sparkling Mood

Ocean Odyssey (ozonic, fresh, marine), Ginger (citrus, earthy, spicy), Rhubarb (citrus, fruity, bitter, acid), Bergamot (citrus, sparkling, floral),  Lime Lights (citrus, spicy, sweet), Tea Time (citrus, green, natural) ,Fig (fruity, green, sweet lactonic) , Pear (green, juicy),  Raspberry (fresh, sweet, powdery).

Each and every one of these precious top notes will introduce freshness, colour, and spark to your composition, while lifting your chosen heart or bottom ingredients. As a result of their character, they won’t generally last for a long time if used on their own, although Ocean Odyssey will increase the diffusion and sillage of your perfume. The citrus collection - including Bergamot, Ginger, Lime, and Rhubarb - will open up your composition with a sparkling energy and positive mood. The fruitier end of the top note spectrum will infuse your scent with youthfulness, colour, sweetness, and positivity.

All of these fresh notes have what it takes to blend perfectly with any heart or bottom note, and will maintain a refreshing, confident, and outgoing character which will enliven your spirits all day long. Easy to wear, not too dominant or overpowering, and perfect for a range of occasions and seasons, they’re a wonderful addition to any signature scent.

The only combination which should be approached with caution would be the mix of two top notes. It will be sparkling, explosive and deliciously fresh... but you might miss the important element of long-lasting impact, as you have no heart or bottom note to support your ultra fresh blend. But the final choice is entirely yours, and there is no shame in craving freshness only!

The Heart Notes collection: Elegance, Balance, and the main character of your creation

Our range of heart note ingredients feature some of the world’s most famous and sought-after essences. Including in your scent composition, these heart notes will add lasting distinction and balance to your perfume, levelling up the elegance and allure and providing unending sophistication. They include:

-All the woody notes: Cedar (strong, dry, pencil scent), Vetiver (leathery, smoky, vertical) , Oud (strong, bold , sexy, animalic), Patchouli (strong, fresh and bold, forest scent), Orris (soft, powdery, elegant, light sweet, suedine),  Sandalwood (the smoothest wood, creaminess, sensuality, second skin, slight sweetness).

-All the flowers: Tuberose (the strongest flower, sweet and lactonic), Jasmine (quite strong, fresh and animalic, innocent and sensual at the same time!), Muguet (fresh green, uplifting), Frangipani (strong, solar,  aquatic) , Rose (elegant, fresh, delicate, slightly fruity), Orange Blossom (fresh, green, citrusy, innocent), Mimosa (fresh and aquatic).

-All the aromatic notes: Sage (strong, herbal, fresh and sexy), Lavender (aromatic, mild, calming and fresh), Cannabis (strong, earthy, bitter, distinctive).

Although your perfume composition is sure to be as unique as you are, we’d usually advise our budding scent designers to include a heart note in their signature scent. Your choice of heart note, however, will come down to the impact you want your perfume to have, and whether you’re looking for a fresh daytime scent, an elegant fragrance, one for the workplace, or one for date nights and seductive nights in!

If you’re seeking a daytime perfume, then we’d advise blending a fresh top note with a heart note. The heart note will retain its dominance, but the fresher top note will provide lift, spark, and vitality, as well as helping with projection.

Those seeking a sexier, more sensual perfume would be advised to blend a heart note with Vanilla, Amber, Honey, Tonka, Havana, or Incense. These intense oriental essences will dominate the blend (so be sure that you’re in love with them first!) but will be balanced and given additional elegance and intrigue by your choice of heart note.

Can’t decide between two heart notes? Why not blend them together? This can create a beautiful combination that exudes balance and sophistication. Two floral notes, one floral and one wood note, one aromatic and one wood note, or one aromatic and one flower… the choice is entirely yours. The only combination which should be approached with caution would be a blend of two woods-this can end up creating too much of a strong impact!

The Bottom Notes collection: unleashing your Sensuality with a unique palette of seductive weapons

Sultry, sexy, and hypnotic, the bottom notes will generally dominate your composition, and bring a sensual and long-lasting sillage and mesmerising trail to a signature scent. With their majestic projection and sense of allure, these ingredients will blend perfectly with any heart note for a truly unmissable impact. They include:

- Oriental, sweet and balsamic notes:  Havana Harvest (spicy, tobacco, leathery), Vanilla (sweet, balsamic), Amber (intense, addictive, spicy, sweet), Incense (peppery, intense, mystique), Honey (mild, sweet, creamy), Tonka (nutty, sweet, addictive) , Cashmere Wood (smocky, leathery, woody).
